I went to this auction and bid on a 2009 Tahoe (Not sure what the trim level was). I think the miles were circa 130xxx but not entirely sure either. I bid on it and lost to a 15.5K bid.

Then I lost a few more bids but ended up getting a 2008 Tahoe for 6.2K... Now it does need about 800 in body work and repainting. So ended up with about 8K in with all the repairs and fees. It's the LT trim level and 160K miles, 2WD.

There seems to be a sharp price delta between 07,08 models and 09 and up. 09 seems to go for 15K even with high miles in the LTZ trim.

Honestly, I would have to say if there isn't anything else wrong with your 08 then you got a pretty good deal. As for the price difference. We need to know more. Was the 09 4wd? Did it have captains chairs in the 2nd row. Was one cloth interior and the other leather. There is a lot of different packages that the vehicle can come in to make a price difference. As for your 08 Yukon enjoy it!!

I really wanted to get an 09 to get the newer tranny versus the old 4L60 but not at that price.

A lot of guys prefer the 4 to the 6 because it doesn't hunt for a gear so much, if that's any consolation to you.

Interesting point. Maybe I should be content with the 4 speed.
