I keep getting a “service climate system defogging active” message and it switches my heat from feet/hands to the defrost only and I can’t turn it off from the buttons. I have to go to the climate page and switch it back. I have also noticed a burning rubber smell coming from my vents but only when I’m idle. Anyone else had these issues? I have a 2021 Yukon Denali.

Do any of the buttons on the HVAC control head work? If one or more of the buttons is not working, then the system knows this as is moving to defrost as a fail safe. If all of your settings work properly from the infotainment controls, then I would look at replacing the HVAC control head. Also if you have access to a code reader you should be able to get a U-Code that lets you know why the climate system thinks it needs to be serviced.
