Here are the additional comments from the TSB -

Equipped with RADIO-INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM - UPLEVEL HMI, ENHANCED CONNECTIVITY and RADIO-INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM - UPLEVEL HMI, ENHANCED CONNECTIVITY, EMBEDDED NAVIGATION (RPOs IO5, IO6) WITHOUT RPO U42

If I read this correctly it looks like it applies to vehicles "without RPO U42" which is the RSE - not sure why that option would preclude a fix for the rear camera brightness but it seems as if dealer was correct.

The camera is the only thing worse then the halogen headlights on a 60k vehicle! 18k Jetta camera is clear as day anytime you use it. Some of the things GM cheaps out on is so funny. The camera is useless if it rains, its dark, its sunny, pretty much all the time. I'm looking into aftermarket options to wire in.

FYI... my 2016 Suburban LTZ with RSE and the camera stinks... My 2011 Tahoe Camera was better.
