I was hit by the notice from Photobucket saying that my photos linked to forums would no longer work without paying $400.

The links were broken for a while, but it looks like they're working again. I didn't pay the $400 ransom, and my linked photos on other sites are still broken.

Did this forum somehow do something to make the Photobucket links work again? I'd love to delete my photobucket account, but don't want to mess up something that may be now working again.

Yes, @Shaggy enabled an add-on to the site that basically repaired the links and displayed the images on this site. Obviously, that does nothing for the broken links on your other forums. I THINK that the add-on actually brought the images on to Shaggy's servers making them now hosted on TYF but hopefully he'll chime in here and correct me if I'm wrong.

That's awesome, glad to hear that they were able to do that.

Does this mean that it is back as usual ? according to the scale of use, my account was to be FREE. I only had two photo's in my library.

What it means is that most of the photos in the various threads that were hosted by Photobucket are now fixed but Photobucket is still a pile of crap trying to grab $400/year from each person.

From the rumors on the street I would still rehost any pictures and redo any threads you care about. I don't think PB is going to let pics stay up.

Yep, they can take that $400 and stick it.

So if I delete my photobucket account, I'm assuming that any of my photos on this forum will still show up if they are hosted by this forum?

With the old PB pics in threads, that doesn't matter now as they are moved to the site.

Still kind of new here and always wondered about the missing pb pictures. What's the preferred method for attaching files? Is there a problem with using the "Upload a File" button?
