How about an update Pete? How's it coming along?
Motivation or peer pressure? LolRemove OnStar antenna & XM Satellite Radio antenna
ok, @Fosscore --- i sat there and stared at your Post(s)
i sat there reading your walkthrough and i was like.. hmm.
then i was like nah. then i was like, pssh, might as well. haha. so.. thanks for the motivational push -- here we go.
that night i opened my sunroof and tried to see if i could do anything without pulling the headliner. (nope!)
the little shine you see is the unaccessible nut on the right antenna

i spent more time debating and whining about it than it took to get them off.
let's tear it apart.
(Using a T-10 Torx for almost every screw i show you)
3 screws on the left, 1 on the right to drop the Left sun visor

i thought the overhead console would be a pain. not at all. One screw near the windshield in the center front and then it's just a nice firm pull south to release all the plastic clips that hold it in.
(i let all this stuff just dangle by the way)

on the drivers side under where the visor was, you will see a circle plug, pop it out and there is another screw to take out

same with the passenger visor, 3 on the right, one screw on the left etc..
Pull the grey weatherstrip half off the sunroof and... access is granted!

The nut right in the middle holds it all on. I think it was a 10mm but both mine were only finger-tight. So here is looking through from the drivers side and the headliner pulled down a little.
But i used the opening through the sunroof to get my arm in there to do everything on both sides.

once i got the nut off, pulled the lil gold anchor off too. Then i went from the roof and wiggled back and forth as i pulled it up and through. cut the wires and taped them off and pushed them back into the hole

OnStar guts
