Ordered a new air dam for a 2015 Yukon from parts today. We did some investigating, computer shows it is the same part# on a Tahoe. I thought, good. Then I had him do a search for the PPV. But he couldn't come up with anything on the computer for a Tahoe PPV. I see the PPV use a smaller...less tall air dam. I showed him a picture and video on my phone. He agree it would be the easy way out.

I was hoping to just get a PPV air dam and it would bolt right up in place, not having to cut down a factory Yukon dam.

Denver warehouse showed they had 19 on hand. Should be here Monday.

$62.40 later and the right angle cut-off grinder will be coming out. I will take photos of the process and post results if anyone is interested.

Plan on shaving it down to the exsisiting bodyline already molded in it.

This is what I'm going for. Front dam to be on the same horizontal plane as the running boards, which is on the same plane as the start of the rear dam.

Got the deflector picked up Tuesday. Got a chance to get to the shop and cut it down yesterday. Looks like it's going to be spring before I get it installed now. Snow and ice finally set in and I'm not working on it with crap dripping in my face and down my neck. Inner fender wells will have to come loose in the front.

1st pic is before
2nd is after
Others are tools I used and process.

Blue tape is to get a straight line. I cut out the middle and left 3" on each end for last so it would have support.

With it clamped down, I had no problem with it being flimsy.

I would guess just to get the front end off the ground some. Mine had been scuffed when I picked it up with 3 miles on it.
