Metal strips going side to side under the front seats. What's the point of it?

Hey guys I was wondering if anybody knows what these metal strips are for their only in the front and they go from driver side to passenger side underneath where the seats sit they are under the carpet also. I'm redoing the interior in mine and I don't want to put them back in seeing if anybody knows what the benefit of them are let me know thank you

there's probably some engineering reason, either it is a additional support or for safety, I took a metal strap out of the rear seat of my Silverado to put in subwoofers it was obviously put there to keep the center seat belt from ripping out in case of a severe accident but nobody ever sits there so no biggie.
