I just returned from vacation and bought a walmart Hitch Carrier and it worked great. I filled it up with large cooler, beach chairs, canopy, and floats in a bag. Used some ratchet straps to tie it all down and rode out.

It's some fairly thick steel, no chance of that happening.

Did that set up for a few years too, my hitch carrier had a soft bag on it though and on the back of the hitch carrier was the bike rack.... a real shit show... i use a trailer now.
