Liftgate Motor/Latch broken (pics)

Today I decided to figure out why the lift gate on my 2008 Tahoe wont automatically open and close (still works manually).

The gate will try to open (you can hear the motor trying to work), but the gate does not move. I took off the paneling and removed the motor assembly. You could tell that something was wrong internally by the sound and the intermittent behavior.

Here is the motor assembly (GM part # 25889603)...

It looks like the only way to get the little plastic gear is to spend $300 on a new motor.

Anyone have a better idea?

Same issue. The price is ridicuous for the assembly. I was hoping to find a junk hoe I can get one from

Same issue here too.. but at that price ill open it myself.

Did you check rockauto.com for the price


Edit: nm its still near 300 :oops:
