i need help 99 tahoe 4x4

So I just tore into my engine today an both the top end and bottom end have a medium amber color to it. I was wondering if its normal or if I have a major problem?

Could just be varnish (normally associated with oil vapor condensing)... if that's the case, you're in the "normal" category. Periodically, it's recommended to run a fuel system/injector cleaner through the fuel and to have the intake cleaned as well (Seafoam). Just be careful with the intake cleaning. Lots of different methods out there.
