Wow that's odd. I checked all my fuses and all of them were good except my rear sensors fuse was blown. I brought it to the shop where I got the lock pick/screen/rear cam installed and they said it was a defective lock pick. They took it out and bam it worked... Sucks. Now I have to exchange the lock pick and then put it back in afterwards when they send me a new one.

I would assume by now that you have gotten a new lock pick installed? Is everything back working again?

The only connection I see between both of our issues is the lock pick itself. Like I said, I have not had any additional problems to date, it just worries me that it might happen again. I wonder what about the lock pick caused the issue? Did you have your shop guys take a look at it?

The custom audio place I went to sells the gmx550 lock pick and they told me they've seen this happen before and that I had a dead/defective unit. I had to argue with both Coastel Tech and Net Electronics (amazon 3rd party seller) to get an exchange. They said for them to exchange it, the issue would have to be "troubleshooted by a Coastel Tech specialist". I told them about the store in town that installed my lock pick and how they tested the radio without the lock pick and that it had already been tested. Coastel Tech refused to help me until I re-installed the lock pick and called them to troubleshoot. At this point I had already had the thing initially installed AND charged a second time for the UN-install. I refused and after hours of arguing on the phone with both parties, I opened up an "A to Z Guarantee" case with amazon which puts a freeze on the funds for that invoice. Net Electronics then immediately emailed me and said to ship the lock pick back its entirety and they would exchange it after They received the defective one. I now have a brand new lock pick in the box but haven't had time to get it re-installed...

It wasn't a blown fuse. It was the lock pick that made the factory nav shut off.

In the brush near the river.
Call them up and answer all questions as if it is installed and has no power. Should be a short troubleshooting session.

Edit:
Disregard last. I learned to read.

That's actually a good idea... I just filed a claim from amazon and voila... the shorter route for sure :Handshake:

Thanks for the update Felix! It's too bad that you had to go through all that trouble just to get a new unit. It is amazing though, that once you start throwing "legal terms" (A-Z guarantee) around, how companies all of a sudden become your new best friend. It's too bad they were not more helpful from the beginning.

I really hope this is a rare occurrence and not something I will be running into again. At least now I know what the main issue at hand will probably be, if it does happen again. Keep me updated on the new lock pick, and I will let you know if I come across something like this again.

I would assume, because you had to send the old one back, that you never really got a good answer on what specifically went wrong? Possibly a short or something?

I know everybody has said this, buy definitely sounds like a blown fuse.

I am not trying to be mean, but did you even read the thread, or just the first couple of posts? I would venture to guess the latter :imo:

...but did you check the fuse? It might be a fuse.

I hope your not serious :nono: (see my response to "Diabology" above) :)
