Update, the gorilla glue works like a champ! Thanks for the tip 
I got a test armrest from junkyard and used it on that. Now I'm starting to do the armrests for my truck
This armrest is one of the ones for the back doors. Unfortunately it's a bit curved so more tricky. I made a special vice for the front ones from a few pieces of wood and bar clamp.
