Heat/AC control knob not working

My windshield was all fogged up today so I turned the knob to the defrost setting but no matter what I set it to, heat would only blow out of the vents...no air would blow out of the vents by the windshield. Usually I can hear the actuator door? if that's what it's called switch but I can no longer get any air to blow out of that vent or the vent by my feet

Anyone have any idea whats wrong?
