When I had my sliders installed, I asked the guy to bend/trim back the wheel well to fit the contour line so it matches up with the front corner of the slider. It made sense to me that by opening this lower arch opening I could put a slightly larger tire and avoid some of the potential rubbing in the back of the front wheel arch.

Instead of doing something like a Norcal mod, he just took an angle grinder and cut the interior off leaving two strips of exposed sheet metal. I think this is just going to be a gap for mud, water and later rust.

The best option that I can think of is to hammer the two pieces of sheet metal a bit closer and JB Weld the gap to fill it in. A permanent solution would be to weld a strip and make it water tight but that seems expensive for this small job.

Any thoughts or help on this?
