I have a 2002 suburban. That was involved in a wreak over a year ago. After being restored. My led light strips (did the underhood mod) . Stay on even when the hood is closed. Until the truck turns them off because of the timer.... The little push button on the driver side does nothing. Has no real signal other then a ground. Giving a ground signal to the wire that appears to connect does nothing. So what exactly tells the hoodlight to turn off? And how?

Originally was a level switch in the light housing. Open, the switch moves one way, close it moves back.
