ok, so here it the final product. a few lessons learned from painting metallic. but overall for a budget job im pleased.
i will need to do some realignment of the barn doors to get the gaps a bit closer. and the paint from automotive touch up is really close. im damn near colorblind, so i cant really tell. i did wetsand, cutting compound and buff, all by hand. should be redone when i buy a buffer.

Nice work. Looks great.

I have ordered all my paint thru automotivetouchup.com in rattle cans and quarts and it has always been spot on regardless of batch or time differential in ordering.

Hood needs a proper gun, otherwise you will tiger tail it.

Bumper, plastics and other small items for sure can be rattle canned. Good luck.

I have been really up in the air on doing this mod. Has anyone had their factory plastics color matched? I kind of like the look of the factories but don't know if I would like them better painted or stock.

That looks really good. I've been thinking about removing my rear wiper on mine too. I think the escy caps look better with no wiper if that makes sense lol

On dark colored trucks, I like the color match, but on light colored trucks like mine, I like the black look.

But yours looks very nice.

The color looks factory.

That was kind of why i was reluctant. It did turn out good. But almost out of place a bit. Ive had it for a month and like it.
Im thinking about tackling the lower z 71 trim next

Yea I'm with you. On light colors or white like mine, I think the black flows better. On white, the bright white corners just look out of place.
