Do wheels have tow ratings

I have my 02 escalade with 22" wheels on it. I want to use it to tow my camaro but im being told to make sure my wheels can handle towing.....

Is that for real or are people just tryin to fluster me???

Wheels have a max weight that they are rated to carry. Most wheels on the market carry similar ratings and can support the vehicle plus a few lbs.

You will be just fine, you don't have enough tongue weight to even come close to maxing them out. No worries.

Just be careful with your tires. If you have p-metric tires you can have issue. Realisticly you should be fine. Just be careful.

I dont know how accurate this is so if i am wrong plz correct me but i was told at one time if your rim is not a one piece it does have lower than normal load ratings , if so wouldnt that play a role?

From 5 diff. Wheel manufactures the wheels range 2100-2200lbs carrying capacity. So you will be all good. The back of the rig and your tounge weight wont equal 4400 lbs.
