Denali 8-Speed Trans - when introduced?

Can anyone tell me with certainty when the Denali went from the 6-speed to 8-speed transmission? I've seen comments on here that MY 15 had the 8, but all that I have seen for sale online are listed as 6-speed. Also, according to Edmunds, both MY 15 and 16 are listed as 6-speed.

10/15/14. Build sticker with build date is located on the lower front drivers side door frame. Also other options such as cell phone charging pad located on the center console arm rest which is an easy way to tell if you have a 2015 interim build, 4g lite and lift gate foot kick opener.

Well, you could just put your shifter into manual mode and see how many gears are available.

What RPO code do you have in the "Mxx" range?
M5U is the 8 speed
MYC is the 6 speed
