I'm in the process of doing the rear wiper delete on my Escalade, just need to pop something on the plugs and pop them in, I was gonna use the black adhesive sealant but kinda leaning towards using clear RTV silicone being as it's a lil less messy and seem to do the same stuff as the other would it be ok to use the RTV?

Either or. Both will keep water out and hold plug in. Clear silicone, in direct sunlight may yellow over time if you dont clean it all off, and it will be kinda slick on the hatch, just the nature of silicone. black sealant will just collect dust if not all cleaned off. I would put blue painters tape around the hole before putting plugs in so if any aquirts out you can pull the tape off after it dries and no residue will be left on the paint. Hope i make sense. :2cents:

That's not a bad idea on the tape beats cleaning residue off the hatch
