Hi I have a 99 GMC Yukon Denali when I turn on the ignition I get no check engine light. The fuse is good. When I connect the scanner it blows the ign b fuse under the hood. The connector has ground and power to it. I am at wits end with this problem. Has anyone ever encountered this problem. I would definitely appreciate your comments towards this dilemma.

Here are the diagnostics for a 1998, I'd guess it's the same for your 99.

With the check engine light not coming on and a blown fuse, it leads you from step 2 to 6 to 20 in the table below.

I would think that you have a short to ground in that circuit (red wire, circuit #342) but I'm not entirely clear from the wiring diagram on how plugging into the DLC figures into it. You'd think it would pop every time you tried to start it.

The wire goes from the computer through the firewall at connector #C100, to the convenience center near the brake pedal and then up to the ignition switch. It's not the most fun thing to track, but start with C100 and make sure it's pushed in good. It's held in by screws, so it's probably not your issue.

Follow it from the convenience center on up to the steering column. I'd guess that the issue is in there, sometimes things get rubbed if the tilt steering is slammed up and down a lot.
