My new shark fin is all painted, sanded, and cleaned, ready to go! I’m really happy with how paint on this project came out this time. I’m slowly but surely getting better with paint! Now comes the hard part. Lol. Figuring out how to get mine off my truck

Just front corner over the drivers seat. Shouldn’t be too bad. A few torx screws and the drivers side a pillar and I should have plenty of access to it.

Careful when you pull that A pillar. Those tabs have been known to break.

Swapping my onstar fin was pretty easy. Pulled the a pillar carefully, and then pulled the four T15 torx screws out holding the visor in place and just gently pulled down the front corner of the headliner. One 9mm bolt holding my fin in place, a gentle wiggle and it popped off the roof. Fished the wire out and unplugged and off came the non painted one:


Then just reversed everything once the painted one was in place. Putting everything back together was simple and my headliner sits exactly where it did before. I thought that part was gonna be bad. But not all. I left the antenna off for a minute and did not like the look without the little fin whatsoever. So no delete for me. Lol. It came out nice and I love the look with it color matched. And of course had to wash the truck when I was done.... lol
