Mines an 06. Here's what I got under there.

It was 2 screws to get the kick off. So what are we saying here, you gotta cut this open?

I would just like to add, that when I changed the filter on mine, it was really easy, only problem is some debris got from the filter to the fan, resulting in some noise. I didnt have time to deal with it so I took it to dealership and they charged me an hour to remove the debris.
So I guess what I am saying is be carefull removing the old one and if you get noise coming out of A/C afterward, look for debris in the fan
