Wow, you make it look simple but I dread just dropping the tranny. On a truck, must be heavy. From the pics in the background, looks like you got the space and tools to properly do this unlike 80% of us probably. Appreciate you for even sharing the process and hoping it goes as smooth as you make it sound so far.

The 6L80s are about 230lbs give or take. That's what transmission jacks are for; or a floor jack and a 2x4 or two!

Well today is the big day to see if it was a total failure or if it really was as easy as I thought. I'll update tonight!!!

Well I did it. For anyone with any mechanical skill don't be afraid of it. I successfully rebuilt my first transmission, however I encountered another reason why the last one went bye bye. The solenoid pack is bad so I have to get another one. I've seen in a few of the caddy and corvette forums that doing a reprogram and clean cycle of the solenoids usually worked but I'm not taking any chances.
