I wouldn't use dip unless you planned on it being temporary personally. It's not designed to be permanent.

However, I can see it being good since it will fill some small cuts and gouges in the plastics....

Only issue I have now is that there isn't anything to "touch up" areas that may need it once it's in the vehicle.

But I guess covering some of the areas and spraying in the vehicle wouldn't be terribly bad. *shrug*
Actually I had one of those shower caddies that was getting a little rusty. I sprayed dip on it, then painted it white. Actually came out good, but it still was easy to scratch off. So I guess it was be even easier on plastic panels.

cleaned everything with mineral spirits, hit it with some adhesion promoter, then sprayed a ton of light coats of SEM Classic Coats. Currently waiting on another 4 cans of the dark brown and one can of the tan to show up to finish off the side and door panels.

Also need to sand the rubber stuff off the damned dash trim and tape off the wood grain... and grab another Denali door switch to paint.

Hopefully Friday.

I also might end up pulling the carpet again to dye it black. lol... just put the new console together and the balck and brown look REALLY good together.

thank you.
That rubber stuff comes off easy with alcohol and scotchbrite pads. Denatured alcohol that is. The other kind will just make you fall asleep without much to show for it.

Thanks for the tip on using denatured alcohol, worked like a charm and now everything is prepped to be painted. @Rocket Man

And my paint arrived. :woot

However, instead of painting, I decided to help my wife finish her (my) DIY project of converting and old crib into a deck chair as well as redoing my carpet...

Shifted from the chocolate brown to black... should look killer against the dark cashmere, at least MUCH better than the chocolate did.

and I'm thinking that I'll be sitting in the garage late tonight trying to finish up the paint for the interior...
