best tire for 2wd Hybrid

I have 2 sets of winter wheels. I have some stock wheels with Good Year Assurance Fuel Max and some aftermarket 18X9's with Nitto Terra Grapplers. I bought the new Terra Grapplers for the back last year and still wasn't great. Maybe if i add some weight to the back it will help? Been looking at the Bridgestone Blizzak. anyone have any experience in the winter with the 2wd? What has worked best? Thanks.
