Man I haven't been on here in awhile, and I always wished my Tahoe was a z71 back in the day. Well I sold my Silverado that was lowered with motor work, in order to get into something more enjoyable to drive and more "functional". I decided that for dad duty and for the price it was very hard to beat a NBS Tahoe. I plan to do some simple mods to it and keep it very "normal". Seems like the more I mess with a vehicle the less I want to drive it and more I want to stare at it.

Here are the details:
2005 Bermuda Blue Z71 Tahoe with 134k
5.3, 4x4, with all options
Sunroof, Nav, DVD, rear captain chairs, and best of all 4.10 factory gears.

Plans are as follows:
Ford Keys, 1.5" Coil spacers, Bilstein 5100's (all ordered)
2" Wheel spacers
LED Interior upgrade (ordered)
Dynatech Muffler and Corsa tip
StrokerAce tune

After that I plan little cosmetic mods and to just clean it up really good. Right now it is "taken care of" but it isn't clean. Water spots, leather needs cleaning, stuff like that. Hopefully I will have some updates in the next few weeks. The pictures hide a lot of the "dirtyness of the truck" but once paint corrected it should be pretty decent. Here are the pictures.

Welcome back to the SUV lyfe Brian. Lol
Keep me posted on how it turns out with the spacers and Ford keys. I knows that's a cheap way to get a little bit of lift on these SUVs. And I've been thinking about spacers myself ever since I got these 2010 GMC Sierra wheels on here. I'm just hesitate because of the failures I have seen.

Sometimes it looks level, sometimes it looks like it has rake. Going to wait a week or two and if still raked I will change 1.5" spacer out for 1"

Bought used 285/70r17s today from local shop and they are horribly cupped out. I took them back this morning and now I have some choices to make.

I need new tires and I have always loved the bigger tires on stock z71 Tahoe wheels. There is a part of me that wants to go 20x10 and there is a part of me that wants to go with 20" Reps. I just have to decide if I go 17's with meaty tire, 20x10's or Reps

I vote 20x10's on this one but if you stay with the 17s better get that fourth center cap that you're missing

I agree on the 20x10s. Something like the gear big blocks would look amazing on there. Looking good so far tho

It got broken at the damn tire shop when they were swapping things around. My buddy at the tire shop said he would take care of it when I figured out wheels and tires.

I am REALLY leaning towards the 20x10 Big Blocks as well. I love how they look, but just trying to figure out what to do. My buddy has 20x12 black big blocks and I love them. I just don't want to try to squeeze a 20x12 :)

20x10

20x12 are so sexy tho

I have an extra center cap for those wheels laying around somewhere. But the bowtie is faded, its not gold anymore. That's the center caps I use on the NNBS Sierra wheels that I have on my Burban.
