Anyone use one of those hitch racks when traveling?

I'm getting ready to go on a trip and was thinking of getting one for extra storage during the trip. If so, what do you do with it once you reach your destination? What do you generally carry on It? What do you all use to the down, ratchet straps? Tarp to cover in case of rain?

You have to extend one corner 1/2 inch wider at the top other than that fits like a glove. Waterproof and fits all the gear. Just roll it into the hotel room when you get there. I just leave the hitch In. 1dcd20c6bbc9ad34999286005b0fc129.jpgf1e1da7a06e893ac921b630da7cad218.jpg

Harbor freight motorcycle rack that I've had for about 5 or 6 years and use a lot. I'm going to be buying the 60$ carrier they have that's rated for 500lbs for my standup.

Super moto is 300/310 lbs and standup is 275lbs. I have done 2,000 mile trips with no problem

I'll look into the hitch. I will more than likely store luggage on it as my family and a friend will fill up the cab

FB_IMG_1470444909639.jpg IMG_20160728_212124.jpg thule-outbound.jpg I've always been wary of using a hitch rack due to backing up hazard, rear hatch access, etc. I opted for a roof rack and water proof cargo bag and it works well for me although it does require packing a folding step stool for easier access.

Curt #18153 with water proof bag #18211. Works great and you can fold up the rack when not in use. Bag attaches to cargo rack via six webbing straps. Rack is rated for 500lbs.
