I have a question regarding the Active Fuel Management on our trucks. When the system drops to 4 cylinder mode does it cut the same 4 cylinders out each time, or, does it alternate between the cylinders?

Just curious.

It is the same 4 cylinders every time. 1, 7, 4, and 6. It doesn't mean that the pistons stop moving, just that combustion is turned off in those cylinders, so inconsistent wear shouldn't be an issue.

I have a 2016 Tahoe LTZ 5.3 2WD. Does my Tahoe have AFM? How do I know whether I have it or not?

I never heard of AFM until I started researching "performance tuning".

You have it. Google AFM and you'll get lots of info.

From your owner's manual, page 156-157:

"Fuel Economy :
The center
displays the approximate
instantaneous fuel economy as a
number and bar graph. Displayed
above the bar graph is a running
average of fuel economy for the
most recently traveled selected
distance. Displayed below the bar
graph is the best average fuel
economy that has been achieved for
the selected distance. The selected
distance is displayed at the top of
the page as “last *** mi/km.”
Next to the odometer, the Active Fuel
Management displays the number of
cylinders the vehicle is running on."

See Active Fuel Management, page 254:
"
Active Fuel Management
®
Vehicles with V8 engines may have
Active Fuel Management. This
system allows the engine to operate
on either all or half of its cylinders,
depending on the driving conditions.
When less power is required, such
as cruising at a constant vehicle
speed, the system will operate in
the half cylinder mode, allowing the
vehicle to achieve better fuel
economy. When greater power
demands are required, such as
accelerating from a stop, passing,
or merging onto a freeway, the
system will maintain full-cylinder
operation.
If the vehicle has an Active Fuel
Management indicator, see

or

for
more information on using this
display."
