I see a lot of threads asking about what to get to install a new head unit so figure we should make a sticky with all the info.

This will be updated as you, the experts, give more or correct my information. It has been years since I done one of these and I know products have changed. If you have a suggested part that you feel should be added please provide as much information and a link to the manufacturers website for that part.

Does anyone have a link to a TYF thread showing step by step instructions of any of these installations? Thread starter will get all the credit as the thread will be linked from this thread.

So if I do not have OnStar, Nav, Bluetooth, steering wheel controls, rear controls and not sure on amplified system or not, but pretty sure i dont have it, then i can get this wiring kit http://metraonline.com/part/LC-GMRC-LAN-01 along with the antenna adapter? Or is there another wiring kit i will need along with anything else to install an after market stereo?
