Just thought I'd share this letter below that I recieved from GM. I don't have this issue but hope it could help others in recouping your hard earned cash lost on repairs for an obvious manufacturer defect.

This bs happened on my 15 Denali, replaced condenser myself with aftermarket part that cost me $98, easy repair. dealer was backordered and didn't know when they would get them in stock. I wasn't about to drive around with no a.c. all summer.

It is Customer Service Satisfaction Campaign 17336-01 entitled Special Coverage - Combi Cooler Air Conditioner Refrigerant Leak. It is applicable to 2015-2017 Chevrolet Suburbans and Tahoe’s, GMC Yukons and Yukon XLs and Cadillac Escalades and Escalade ESVs.

It looks like letters are being issued this month and it will extend the warranty period for the particular failure type (crack at the coupler) to 5 years/60,000 miles for Chevrolet and GMC and 6 years/72,000 miles For Cadillac.

I got the letters today. Why don’t they fix it. Why should we risk the issue past the time frame.
Does this affect the 18’s.

The only way you will be reimbursed is if you replaced your bad condenser with a GM condenser. When we were replacing all these this summer at my dealership the only ones available were from Autozone or a local company we found maufacturing them. Noone was gonna ride around and sweat and hope GM would make enough condensers to fix this problem. So they bought the Autozone or the other aftermarkets we had in stock. Everyone we fixed was a 2014 model. Now the people who replaced them and got lucky to get a GM condenser have more than 60,000 miles on them and they are super pissed.
