I have been building on a 2 door 96 Tahoe for about a year now. So far, I have dropped a GM HP 383 motor, Monster 4L60E trans, done a complete upgrade on ignition, and now I want to get underneath the truck and start building below. I have been looking for a way to do a solid axle in the front and want to keep the NP241 that I have, as it is freshly rebuilt. So far I have read that doing a Ford front axle is the way to go. My questions are: how do I convert to use a Ford axle on the tcase, where would ibfind a shackle kit for it, and how would I lift it? I am running 33x12.50x15 wheels and tires, and would like to be sitting at a 37 or 38. So i figure at least 9 inches of lift for that. Anything you guys can thinking would be a big help.
