Started having intermittent problems.
1. Lurching while coming to a stop, like you got rearended.
2. Doesn't want to take off from a stop. Revs and finally clunks into 1st gear.

Changed fluid and filter, no flush.

Any suggestions? Appreciate this forum!

The problem was a transmission valve body check ball. Check ball #1 had shrunk and stuck in the separator plate. I took it to the transmission shop Tuesday morning, explained my symptoms, mentioned possibility of check ball as seen on internet from 3 different transmission shops. He laughed and said don't believe what you see on the internet. Quoted me $3000 for rebuild. Fixed it with $8 Sonnax check balls.

Yes, I removed the valve body and replaced the check balls. On mine I had to lower the exhaust because it crosses under the transmission oil pan. You can either remove the exhaust manifold from the engine block or disconnect the manifold from the catalytic converter pipe. This is the most difficult step. In my case the nuts were welded to the studs at the cat pipe/manifold connection so it was easier to remove the manifold than separate the manifold from the cat conv pipe.
Remove the 18 10mm bolts from transmission oil pan. Pull filter out. There is a big connector plug and a white lock that must be undone. There are 6 E12 Star bolts holding the valve body to the transmission. Then you have the valve body out. I followed about three youtube videos and fixed it myself. I've never worked on a transmission before but it wasn't hard at all. Hope this helps others.

These are the check balls I ordered off of Amazon.

Summit Racing sells them also
