Hi I have a 96 Tahoe 4x4 with a new 4L65E trans and MSD TCM controller and B&m pro shifter. In auto mode trans slips in drive and OD. If I drop it into 1st it will shift hard into 2nd but will slip when I go into drive. In manual mode it shifts hard into 2nd then slips when I put into drive and OD. Reverse is ok. I put in new trans lines cooler and external filter. I dont know if its the MSD controller or what?

Why would you install an MSD tcm instead of having a tune done on the stock ecm?

I got the truck with no motor trans and most wiring, ECU and ABS removed.
I put a 383 motor with MSD EFI.

Thanks, I think I will try changing the VSS and see what that does. MSD tech was no help.

Hate to hear about bad news, sometimes it pays to call back for ANOTHER person for help, just a suggestion, good luck and keep us updated. Possible valve body issue since you have different problems from manual shifting.

I finally got a hold of a Tech at MSD that was able to help me. He figured it was a bad controller and replaced it. I all so put a line pressure gauge on and have the following pressure readings at idle: Park 80psi, Rev. 200psi, N. 80, 4th 75, 3rd 75, 2nd 215, 1st 220-240psi.
Can you tell me why I am getting such high readings in Rev; 1st. and 2nd ?
Thank you.
