hey everyone!

I just installed the K&N 63-3082 and welded in a 18inch Magnaflow with no resonator. On a hard acceleration the car falls flat on its face around 4500 rpm until it shifts. Any advice?

Sounds like it is pinging pretty bad. You need a tune for the intake.

I have heard that the 2017 can't be tuned yet. Doing another hard acceleration run I can hear the valve in the exhaust opening and letting out lots of air but it seems like the transmission still wants to hold in first.

I didn't oil the filter could it have been over oiled and causing this?

They can, just not by all tuners.

You could try cleaning your MAF, but that doesn't sound like it is your issue.

Well I tried cleaning the MAF that didn't do anything. Ended up going back to the stock intake which fixed the problem of it falling flat on its face but the noise on the exhaust flapper under hard acceleration is still there. Could this be due to less back pressure?

Looks like I'll have to wait for a tune on the 2017.

We are already tuning 2017s, EFILive has the capability.

But yes, you will need a tune for that intake, we saw that when we tested intakes on our 2016 Denali.
