2014 Yukon Homelink programming

I recently traded for a 2014 Yukon SLT. I was able to get the rolling code garage doors opener synched, but cannot get the basic gate opener to work. I've tried the owner manual instructions, Homelink's instructions and even called the dealer. The latter said not all openers are compatible. Didn't have any isses with my reious 2002 Suburban. Any suggestions?
