2011 Yukon Denali side mirrors issue

i have an issue where both so the side mirrors will no longer go up or down. They will go side to side and will fold in. Was told by dealer that both mirrors are bad and need replaced. When the truck went in it would not go up and down or left and right somehow they managed to get side to side to start working. Tried a new switch but that did not work just seems weird that both stop working at the same time any ideas?

Likely the motors in the mirrors could be toast. The up / down movement is the first to wear out due to the dip function when the vehicle is placed in reverse. Just a guess

I wonder if the constant bouncing of the suspension could be making the motors/gears go bad faster?

First thing I did when I got my Esky was turn off the mirror tilt when in reverse.
