Interesting how many things I find out when I take care of the lovely ladies BURB and i get to drive it based on it needin gmaintenance taken care of (tires, oil change, etc.).

While driving, there is a Buzzing sound coming from the Radio, most noticeable at the rear doors, it appears it is coming out of the rear door speakers. As you accelerate, the buzzing sound follows the RPM range of the truck, gets lower when the truck downshifts. If I turn the radio off, of course the sound is gone. I can REALLY hear it with the Volume is at the lowest setting, (no radio noise coming out of the speakers), the buzzing sound is now VERY NOTICEABLE and totally annoying.

I do have the OEM BOSE Stereo system with the Rear DVD player in the BURB.

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

Back in the old days, didn't this have to do with spark plug wires causing the noise.

From MSD.

Radio Frequency noise is generated by the secondary side
of the ignition (coil wires, cap, rotor, spark plug wires). This
noise is radiated into the air and picked up by the antenna.
This noise will be noticeable on the AM band and will be
louder between stations. The FM band may also be affected
slightly. If you play a tape or CD, the noise will go away. Maintaining
the secondary side of the ignition system is important
in eliminating radio frequency noise.

Sounds like a loose ground or connection.

Thanks guys.

Any particular area(s) where I need to be looking for the loose ground? How a
many areas/positions are on our trucks where the ground could be loose?

Thanks.

Check the main ground off the battery to the chassis and check the ground for the alternator as well. If there is rust on the ground you may want to crimp a new end on and scrape/grind off rust. You want a nice shiny surface to have the best ground..........

I'd check alternator first as you described the sound following the RPM's......

Good Luck bud

Went to the dealer for an oilchange today and asked my Service Advisor Bud to check all the grounds, ALL are tight and clean.
