2000 Z71 Tahoe check engine light flashed

Driving home my check engine light flashed for 10 seconds then stayed on. How serious could this be? I'll take the truck to auto zone in the morning and run the scanner. All gauges were good oil pressure was good coolant was good and battery is fine. It has a slight shudder in fourth that goes away after a bit when accellerating on to the highway but im not too worried about it, has a new fuel pump its running good it does have an exhaust leak but overall its running good.
