I doubt I have ever used the same brand twice in a row. I'm all about the sale baby!
The Hoe has 233k miles on the orig eng and tran so I would say it hasn't done harm.
Been looking around. I'm gonna give the turtle wax BLACK BOX a try.
I sed that Meguiar's quick spray on wax on the Hoe, the other day. That stuff beaded up afterwards real well and took away all the water spots. Worked well so far...
Nice job taking off the trim work without wrecking the paint. Was that heat gun you used? What did you use for chemically breaking down the paint?
I've never been bothered by the molding but damn, these trucks look clean without it!
Nice job.
Ever since My F150 went down....aka the broken truck....I've been wanting a GM P/U truck.
I would be tempted to do it! But that is based on my needs!
I'd miss the Hoe though, but I would still have my z71.
I have to pull mine off too. I have a z71 so they already match BUT the things have rust creeping around the edges already and it's bad enough to have to pull em and paint em.....
It might look "redneck" but I think it would be an attention grabber. I can picture it all jacked up with big mudders...maybe a dixie flag too. And then those stack fire off from the blown motor coming out of the hood!
Need a bit of advice guys.
My black burb has seen better days. I need to eliminate swirls marks, chips, bugs, tar......the works.
What are some good products for doing all this on a black car.
My silver Tahoe still looks real nice and it is a 98...but this black paint scares...
Apparently, mine was intermittantly working fine. Heck, if the truck would start, it would run. But once it sat, man - it was tough to start until finally it went. I couldn;t start it for days. I finally gave in to doing the pump even though I wasn't tptaly convinced it was the pump...
Good luck.
Still sounds like my fuel pump problem...
For a few days I could get it going with starter fluid too. Then that stopped working.
But hopefully your problem is something much easier to deal with.
Yep...I have the same sticker. But when those trucks have the rear air they take more. Would have been nice if they matched the sticker info to the actual system in the truck but often (if at all) they didn't.
Did you try pressing (carefully now) the schader valve to see if there is pressure? Make sure the engine isn;t hot. and catch what comes out.
Again...Mine slowly failed and sometimes worked like yours. Once I had the new one in......back to normal baby! Of course that was 300 bux...
Mine had 233k on it when I developed a nasty ticking lifter. Fixed it (so far) and she is back running strong.
I understand the budget thing. I have 3 kids and a mortgage. If the motor goes on the Hoe.....I'm buying a reman motor and installing it myself. So that is my suggestion to...
I have the KN filter in.
So far so good. No lifter noise for two days. Oil pressure at idle and running is up about 5-10 psi. About 20-30 at idle, 40-50 running, sometimes up to 60.
I had also run some seafoam through the oil, gas tank and on top of the cylinders before the oil change...
What you are describing is EXACTLY what happened to me a few weeks ago.
Hoe has a new fuel pump now and starts great again!
It did that to me for about a week and half before the pump gave out completely.
I keyed the truck to on......hit the schrader valve on the gas line......it...
2.8 lbs for regular air.
4.0 lbs if you have the c69 option for rear air.
Even if you have the rear air your system may have the sticker calling for 2.8lbs but it takes 4 lbs
Is there zero pressure in the system? Even when my clutch isn;t engaged I have pressure.
If you are at zero then I would vacuum it down and see if it holds 30 inches for a while.
If it does hold, you can use the vacuum to start filling the system even though the compresor is off...
The module/sending unit he speaks of is located in the fuel tank.
I just replaced my sending unit because the fuel pump went. I had been living without a gas guage for a year.
But my NEW problem might be the gauge itself as the problems I had didn;t seem to be all typical of just the...
You're wlecome. :-)
You should be able to pull it off if you can do those other things.
Note. Charge on a system with rear air is 4lbs vs the 2.8 for a system without.
