    Simply take your VIN to a dealer and have them cut a new key to GM specs. The key itself wears over time, so it doesn't hit all the right thangs anymore. Mine showed up when trying to turn the key back into the accessory position, it just wouldn't go anymore.

    I had a similar battery issue and it was resolved by replacing the battery. You probably have an intermittent cell connection within your OLD battery. Do battery replacements every 5 years to eliminate a lot of headaches. Buy a glass mat battery to eliminate all the cell connection issues.

    I am using the better unit here: the inertia braking means no trailer brake snubbing in city traffic. My 97 Yukon had factory hitch so wiring was easy. There are two 40Amp connectors by the fuses under the hood.
