    Restoring/Upgrading 2011 Tahoe PPV

Hey sorry about the long break!- I've been crushed by a bunch of other projects the last few years and just haven't had much time to work on the Tahoe. Just saw this old thread on Google. Yup, I reused the existing PPV springs. I believe the PPV springs are stiffer so I didn't think it was worth...

    2011 PPV Suspension Overhaul #2 12/20

Please pardon my extended break from the forum. I've been crushed with other projects and just haven't had much of a chance to work on the Tahoe aside from oil changes, tires, a brake job, oil cooler line, transmission filter, and washer bottle replacement. *Guess that's actually quite a bit*...

Boiled battery - voltage too high?

I think I'm having a similar issue with my 2011 Tahoe. I'm on the 3rd set of batteries in 6 years (mine is a PPV with dual batteries). On the two prior sets the aux battery actually blasted acid against the interior of the body and all over the windshield washer bottle. I swapped them out for...

    2007 5.3L Harmonic Balancer/Crank Wobble

My motor wobbles so much at idle that you can feel it in the steering wheel and your foot. Still, it smooths out with throttle and puts down great power. I'm guessing it's just "Vortec Vibration" that can be tuned out. You might have the same thing. Call BB?

Where to sell and how much to sell them for?

I hate to break it but 3rd row seats are a dime a dozen in DFW at least. Now 2nd rows are much harder to find! I think the problem is many people don't need or want the 3rd row...

    Paint help

Maybe consider applying some custom stickers to offset the black? Personally, I think it would look neat with a decal on each of the front doors.

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

$640 including tax and install? If so, that is very cheap for such tires imo (unless you got a great deal). No wonder the sidewall blew out.

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Call me weird but I love my steel 17's! They could survive a pot SINKhole lol. Only downside is they're too small for a BBK. I vote for selling the 24's and running 20's (I know I'm in the minority here). Smoother ride, more pothole resistant.

    2008 Tahoe Fuel Delivery Issue?

Ben, I recommend purchasing a Tech2 or MDI. Keep the Tech2 connected and see what happens in the data log when the bog happens. Capture a few bogging events and save them. You could then send the data log to the dealer or to a knowledgeable tuner to get their opinion. I am 95% sure you will...

    2017 Premier Fuel pump failure

Blame the bathtub curve, the non-serviceable fuel filter, or the crappy returnless fuel systems in all new cars. Your fuel pump was probably just about defective from the factory. Mine is still working at 71k miles (knocks on wood).

    Differential Whine Question

Thanks for the help. I'm not sure if it helps, but I am getting some radial (mostly vertical) play in my rear wheels. When I changed my differential fluid last, the gears looked OK. I didn't see any granules in the old fluid. I will try adding some friction modifier first to see if it quiets...

    Differential Whine Question

Whoops, I should have mentioned. I have a 3.08 rear with G80 locking differential.

    Differential Whine Question

I have been hearing what sounds like differential whine on my 2011 RWD PPV Tahoe. I just realized the whine only happens while turning (either direction) AND accelerating at the same time. I don't hear any clunking. The differential is quiet while turning off throttle or when accelerating in a...

    2008 Tahoe Fuel Delivery Issue?

I hope you didn't spend too much money on the transmission! Sounds like an electrical or fuel problem. Have you checked your fuel pressure? Who tuned your ECU? Have you looked at your fuel pump?

    07-14 model Tahoe air/environmental controls

Ron, please update us if you convert your Tahoe to automatic controls. My dash is in a fairly sorry state so I might eventually replace it. If I do, it would be great to convert to auto climate controls as well. Manual isn't the end of the world but I am lazy lol. It would be great if you could...

    Engine/Motor Mount Trouble

Can we sticky this thread? The solid rubber OEM mount might be the perfect solution to all of our motor mount woes.

2008 Yukon - Need Opinion on Underside

If you buy that truck, you might want to replace all of the rusted suspension hardware (bolts and nuts) you can reach. If the rust on the suspension bolts worsens too much, it will be a PITA to service anything. Cheap insurance IMO. We bought a car from Chicago in 2009 and half of the suspension...

Big brake kits - Worth the cost?

As long as the correct braking balance is maintained (and the stock brakes are undersized), big brake kits help noticeably. Just watch unsprung weight, wheel fitment, and cost! Big brake kits usually help reduce brake fade after repeated stops.

11 Burb 4x4 Transmission fluid change

I've never heard of a truly "lifetime" transmission fill. No dipstick just means the manufacturers save $5. Imo, you need to service the transmission just as frequently. Only now it's more of a pain! Reminds me of GM deleting the radiator petcock. lol

Loud *clank* sound from engine - 2007 Tahoe 5.3L

Ryan- Have you been under the engine when the sound happened? Do this at your own risk, but if the sound is loudest at the oil pan then you can be fairly sure it's a problem in your bottom end. Best to rule out rod knock now before you rack up any more mileage. The longer you run the motor with...

What did you do to your NNBS SSV/PPV today?

You don't have the G80 differential? I thought they must be very common since even my PPV (from a county near Houston) has one. I'd think that almost all of the New York PPVs would have G80's. Have you looked at swapping in a G80?

Bit the bullet and bought a 2015 Escalade ESV - Now I have a bunch of quesions?

Vector: if you have a 7 day exchange option, I'd definitely use it and grab an 8 speed! Better to be out 7% than to be stuck with a 6 speed forever. Plus as other people mentioned, you might run into issues with parts compatibility due to the changeover. Obviously, just verify the vin before...

Bit the bullet and bought a 2015 Escalade ESV - Now I have a bunch of quesions?

Vector, time to make a decision. Now is the time to go back to the dealer and demand a refund or forever hold your peace imo. While you can retrofit many things, a transmission swap isn't cheap or easy. I've done one myself. The 6 speed is fine (much better than the 4 speed) but it apparently...

    Braking Performance (Under 2000 Miles)

I recommend EBC Yellowstuff pads and EBC painted rotors. While the EBC Yellowstuffs generate significant dust, they stop very well! I've been using these exclusively on all of my vehicles for years.
