I have not played with anything in the rear end. I have done work back there a few years ago however nothing recent.
I am focused up front bc the vibration that is felt in the floor boards is predominantly only in the driver floor board. Not felt anywhere else in the car. I have sat in all...
Trying to trouble shoot an issue right now and I was wondering if on my 07 Yukon. Is there any issues removing my front driveshaft and driving with it. Plan to reinstall and will index it. Anything I should know or do prior to it? What are your thoughts?
I have and there isn’t much movement. I don’t feel like it could be a motor mount since the noise is still there when in neutral and I apply the gas and rev the rpm’s. Vibration is still there. Correct me please if that doesn’t rule it out.
However maybe a different mount?
This has been going...
Alright all. Still at it.
Everything I have done.
New wheel bearing assembly both sides
New u joints in drive shaft
New CV axels and shock struts
New brake rotors, pads and calibers.
I still have a vibration. Vibration is there when going down a hill not under acceleration but the...
Alright. Problem is still there. I just had time to replace one of the wheel bearing sides today and well. Noise is still there. Everything else looked great while I was under there. Noise still goes away in a right hand turn. Left wheel bearing is now new. Hoping to get the right side done...
Great point. I love actually working on brakes system so easy and yet just not something people pay attention too enough. I replaced al calipers recently. About 6 months ago and I will give them a look. Also resurfacing the rotors is a good idea. The back ones are new but didn’t replace the...
Nothing in the steering wheel!!! However I was able to take it to a super open parking lot and try a wide turn. It went away when making a right turn. .
Wheel bearing on order. Both sides bc why not.
Btw u joints are way easier then I ever thought.
Alright all. Need more help.
Got the Yukon in the air in the shop. Push pull everything and nothing feels worn out.
Said screw it I have the parts and replaced the u joints. No joy in fixing the problem. Went to the store and got new rear diff gasket and oil just to get a look into it...
I have tried going from 2WD and 4WD. Originally noticed it in 2WD and no change when swapping from one to the other. I never put it in AUTO. I will call around and talk to a driveline shop and see what they offer. Thank you.
Said screw it and just ordered u joints. I am asking for a long day anyways. Let you know how it turns out. Let me k ow if you all have any other suggestions. Will look at the wheel hubs soon too. Since I have no issues in acceleration. I am placing bets on u joints. Famous last words though. I...
I do not feel it in the wheel or seat. Just on the floor board with my left foot. Thanks for the help and suggestion. All my research says it might be the u joint but can’t get outside yet to work on it.
Alright all. Very new noise. It’s cold outside in northern Michigan. Just drove a buddy to the airport on the way there and way back I noticed something new.
A low rumble noise only when removing foot off the gas pedal. Slight acceleration and no noise and immediately when release(not braking)...
