PPV motor mounts... use h3 or oem?

Hey all, Sometimes when accelerating up an incline I will hear a clunk before the power is delivered to the ground. I'm pretty sure it is my motor mounts. After doing a brief search it seems like many people are using the hummer h3 mounts which are oslid instead of the OEM ACdelco hydraulic...

    Avoid 2015 Models?

Hey all, I currently have a 2011 PPV tahoe and I'm tossing around the idea of making the upgrade to a 2015 tahoe. Took a short glance over the few threads here and it seems like there are a lot of folks unhappy with the 2015. Are there any major issues with the drivetrain that need to be...

    Tahoe PPV Tires

Just adding some info for future searchers. Ended up going with the continental lx20's. I've been chasing phantom vibrations since I bought the tahoe. Replaced almost everything... wheel bearings, mounts, rebalanced the RSA's, rebuilt the driveshaft, tuned out the AFM etc etc. Turns out it was...

    Tahoe PPV Tires

Sorry to bump such an old thread, but are there any long term updates you guys have with the tires you've purchased? Curious to see how the contis / nittos etc have held up. Seems like the RS-A's have dropped in price as well and are in line with the conti lx20's. At that price point it seems...

    200k mile maintenance items?

Thanks for the info! Did you do the waterpump at this time too? What brand chain did you go with? I'm thinking about doing the fuel pump too.

    200k mile maintenance items?

Hey guys, Slowly approaching 200k miles and would like to prepare for maintenance. What are some common items? Most service intervals charts I've found dont even go this high. Is the timing chain / chain tensioners something I should do? I plan on inspecting / replacing the following: -...

    Time for brakes

If your calipers aren't leaking at the seals / locking up / sticking, I would not think you would have to replace them (which is why I asked why they recommended it) Most brake jobs you can get by with just replacing the rotors or getting them turned, along with fresh pads and fluids.

    Service Stabilitrak Error

Just to post an update in case anyone searches for this in the future. I replaced the brake switch and it didnt fix the issue. Ended up being low brake fluid. Topped it off and no message since. But I'm assuming I'll have to do brakes in the near future.

    Overwhelmed

In addition to what was mentioned above, check that ground strap from the engine to the firewall. As those age they tend to fray and cause all sorts of weird electrical issues.

    Time for brakes

whats wrong with the calipers on there now? or did they give any reason as to why they need to be replaced?

    Service Stabilitrak Error

Just went outside to scan codes... started it up and no lights. I guess I will keep an eye on things and see.

    Service Stabilitrak Error

Hey all, Today while I was turning into the parking lot at work, I heard 3 dings and I saw the E-brake light as well as the Traction Control light illuminate. No check engine lights or anything. I haven't had a chance to diagnose it yet. I turned the vehicle off and back on, and the only light...

    Resetting TPMS by disconnecting battery?

Hey all, Its about that time of year where the temps drop, and everyone has TPMS questions :P When this has happened in the past, I just filled the tires up to the correct PSI and the TPMS light will go away shortly. However, this year the light has not gone away. I've also tried to relearn...

Trans drain & filter change intervals

Hey guys How often are you guys dropping the pan and changing the filter? Is there any circumstance where you would avoid doing this? (too many miles without change?) Or is it always a good idea to service these even if the last change is unknown? I don't want to cause any issues by stirring...

    PPV Tow/Haul setting?

I believe most PPV tahoes do not have the tow package / tow hitch from the factory unless optioned in. The switch / stalk itself you can buy and wire in but you will need to have the BCM flashed for how / haul (shift line pressures are increased as well as higher revs in each gear). I am not...

Oil cooler line & trans cooler line replacement

It wasnt bad at all like @992dr stated. I did it while I did my oil change to minimize the amount of oil that leaked out. My replacement lines from AC Delco did not come with the quick disconnect retainer c-clips so be careful when you remove yours because you will have to re-use them. The...

    PPV wheel bearing question...

well just to update for any future reference... the wheel bearing / hub assembly I pulled off looked like the SP500301 variant (splines visible). I installed an SP500303 (no spline, sealed hub hole). Seems to be fine so far. I guess they both work fine :)

    PPV wheel bearing question...

Thats what I read too... but no concrete evidence of wheels falling off if using the wrong hub. I know on some vehicles, the axle / axle nut needs to be in place. The only thing I've read between the different hubs are their load ratings. The post can be found here...

    PPV wheel bearing question...

hello fellow PPV'ers, I recently noticed my passenger front wheel bearing had some play in it, so I ordered a hub/bearing assembly from Timken SP450303. Since PPV's are 2wd there is no axle shaft that runs through the front so the hub assembly from Timken itself is sealed. However, on the...

Easiest way to drop trans pan?

You were able to do it without completely removing the pan? Just drop it enough to get the filter off? I plan on sucking some of the fluid out from the dipstick with a fluid extractor / pump. Thanks for the info! Thanks for the info. I'll watch out for the linkage.

Easiest way to drop trans pan?

Hey guys, Finally getting around to the trans filter replacement. From what it looks like, the exhaust is tucked up real close to the pan. Is dropping the exhaust the only way to do this job (according to the service manual)? I read somewhere about jacking up the trans and loosening the trans...

    Odd starting issue... any ideas?

Just a quick update. Getting a no-start condition once in a while where I will just hear a click (not sure if its related to the initial post or something completely new). Once I cycle the key a few times the vehicle will turn over fine. I'm beginning to think that this is a issue with the...

Replacing the rear struts on my 2009 tahoe

What trim is your tahoe? depends on the model you may need some diff struts. I would also recommend sticking with a more reputable brand if you can.

Anyone get the fan recall for their PPV or SSV?

to make sure you guys dont get jerked around like I did / other users in here... open the glove box and check the RPO sticker for "9C1, 5W4" if you dont see those, your vehicle is not affected by the recall. the dealer does not know any better.
