What did you do to your 2015-2020 K2XX Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Indirectly through the engine computer. When the coolant never reaches full temperature then the computer continues adding extra fuel to 1) Warm up the engine sooner, and 2) To avoid running lean. More technically I believe it is termed that the engine never reaches "closed loop" operation...

What did you do to your 2015-2020 K2XX Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Replaced the thermostat housing assembly yesterday. Noticed an immediate improvement in mileage while testing last night and during my commute today.

What did you do to your 2015-2020 K2XX Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Replaced the battery on my ‘16 a few days ago. I had replaced the OEM battery in September 2020 with a Diehard AGM platinum from Advance. It did fine for a year, then the first cold day this winter (19F overnight) it came in lame with a bad cell. Replaced under 36 - month replacement warranty.

Part shows delivered to wrong address

FedEx literally dropping a package, intended for folks a few doors down, on my driveway this February. https://rumble.com/vdu3ln-fedex-delivery-crew-stops-and-drops-and-rolls-a-50-pound-box-onto-the-wrong.html?mref=ej7c&mc=5kvs3

What did you do to your 2015-2020 K2XX Tahoe/Yukon Today?

After noticing that my OEM two piece lug nuts we’re getting a little beat up, I replaced them with solid one piece lug nuts. I’m not sure about the black, I’ll leave ‘em on for a while and see how I feel. FWIW, I covered each with about 4 layers (one width of a roll) of plastic cling wrap to...

Thoughts on my 2020 Tahoe LS

When I bought my ‘16 LS, in early 2017, there weren’t any bench seat Tahoes in stock anywhere that I could find. I think the buckets & console are fine, and I got a great deal, so… The only option on my ‘16 was the 20” wheels. I’m waiting for the tires to wear out and I might pick up some 18”...

What did you do to your 2015-2020 K2XX Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I did pads and rotors on the rear today, for the first time, at about 53,000 miles, then I did a full brake fluid change. I’d bought pads and rotors for the fronts, too, but after pulling the wheels they looked great. (I’d originally done the fronts in the low 30’s due to warping/pulsing.)

Tahoe PPV Deflector installed on 15 Suburban (shorter lower valance that comes on Police model)

After four years of dealing with the front dragging on curbs, and my ramps, I followed your cutting line images today and removed the lower wings on my ‘16 Tahoe. Used a cutting wheel (OK, two cutting wheels) on my dremel. Cleaned up with a utility knife ( removed melted sticky residue), then...

Changed my filter and fluid on 8l90 8 speed today

You might not even need a scan tool to check the transmission temp. On my '16 Tahoe it is an available screen in the digital readout between the tachometer and the speedometer. Enable it in options for INFO screens, then scroll to it after enabling.

    How to Order PPV

So far as I can tell, the only PPV pricing on the California state website is for Ford products. There is contract pricing on Tahoes LS and Suburban LS, but not SSV or PPV. https://www.documents.dgs.ca.gov/pd/contracts/ContractIndexListing.pdf

    Loving my SSV

The restrictions are at best suggestions. Once a vehicle is falling off a dealer's floorplan all bets are off. BUT, a dealer shouldn't/can't give a non-fleet buyer the fleet discount credit so a non-fleet buyer will face a higher cost than a fleet buyer. If you watch cars.com or...

PPV: any difference in the suspension?

The 4WD PPV has been available since model year 2015. Here's the MY17 catalog: http://www.gmfleet.com/content/dam/gmfleet/global/master/nscwebsite/en/Home/Shared_Resources/PDFs/Tahoe_9C1_4WD_Specification_Guide_2017.pdf

How to get rid of ghosting

3M Stripe Removal Wheel to mechanically remove as much as possible, then use denatured alcohol on paper towels. Replace paper towel a few times as it will "load up" with residue the same kind of way sandpaper loads up. Wax to match surrounding area.

17" Sierra take-offs with black ebay wheelskins

I wrote in another thread about buying a set of Sierra 17" steel OEM wheels (and Silverado caps/covers) to use for winter tires. I didn't like the way they looked in gray, and I didn't want to try to deal with plasti-dip during the winter, so I ordered a set of black wheel skins off of ebay...

    Snow Driving

I never bought blizzaks. Many years ago (20?) I read that they had a tendency to be good snow tires for only or a season or two, and then after that the magic was gone. I've probably been missing out on good tires based on likely out of date information.

    Snow Driving

The Hakkapelitas were quite simply amazing during the blizzard that hit Connecticut yesterday. My wife called a bit panicky around 11:30 AM that she'd managed to high-center her car at the end of our driveway. Well, half in the driveway, half in the street. I made the 27 miles drive home...

So what size rims will REALLY fit my 2015 Yukon?

17" rims fit fine. I'm running some 17" OEM Sierra take offs with Hakkapelita R2 SUVs as a winter set. I would have picked up some 18" OEM takeoffs to keep alloys for the winter, but oddly the tires I wanted didn't come as 18s. Another data point is that the police tahoes (PPV/SSV) come with...

    New Nutmegger Tahoe Owner

After buying 6 European vehicles in a row (if you count a Crossfire SRT-6 as European) my 2016 Tahoe won me back to buying American. Last Thanksgiving I rented a Yukon from Hertz and drove it round trip from Connecticut to Georgia. I enjoyed it so much I started looking to buy one, even...

    Snow Driving

I agree about the Continentals. Great in the rain, quiet in the dry, but marginal at best in the snow. I took delivery of my leftover-new 2016 Tahoe 5 days ago. Drove it in the snow for the first time 3 days ago on the Continentals. Terrible compared to my old X5 with Pirelli Scorpion Ice &...

Oil level after first complimentary maintenance

Easiest self-fix would be to pull the excess oil out via the dipstick tube using a vacuum extractor.
