My 2014 SSV, Overlanding/Ham Radio rig project.

Just saw this post. Like how you mounted the rig. Interesting how you mounted that screwdriver out front vs the back. Do you operate HF mobile with the capacity hat on or do you remove it? Do you do any CW? Front mount could be challenging with this push bar on. Enjoyed the pix

    2005 Crown Victoria P71 Build

Your Vic looks good. I owned two of them simultaneously an 06 and an 07, but gave one (a black one) to my father-in-law. I still have the 06. The seats are like lawn chairs but you get used to them. I would seriously consider buying a 2012, the last year of their production. Suggested next mod...

Heads up Nice Black 2015 PPV For Sale Chicago

Chicago Motors, great prices, great selection and great people. They paid for my taxi from the airport to the lot to pick up my 09 PPV. I've had it over a year now. No problems. Taking a hard look at the 2015+ PPVs. They're nice!

    New AVH-3800 BHS

Wifey just bought it for me this past Fathers Day. I'm mechanically inclined, but for this installation, there are so many harnesses, boxes and interfaces for it I don't know where to start. I don't want to spend money on the wrong thing. No OnStar, Sirius/XM on my 09 PPV. No backup camera...

My spotlight had to go too. It was one of the first things I did. Disconnected the spotlight hardware and electrical connectors. Pulled it straight out. Filled the hole with RTV. Watertight and no wind noise. Little notch in the door had a grommet on it. Just left it like it is. IMHO, it looks...

    Purchasing a Tahoe PPV

Thanks for the complement. When I first saw it I had to have it. Sonoma Jewel Metallic is the color. I think I want to black out the grille.

There are some excellent PPV deals on e-Bay right now including a number of black ones.

    Purchasing a Tahoe PPV

I think I got a gem on e-Bay (Chicago Motors) for $11,495. 2009 former MN State Trooper vehicle with 120,000 miles and 6 plugged antenna holes. The back seat looked like it had never been sat in and had full carpeting. It did have some rust issues on the roof that I had repaired at MAACO. It...

For start we need PPV / SSV pics

Didn't give much thought to the silver PPVs but that looks really nice to this southern neighbor just across the state line. Don't see too many SCHP Tahoes, mainly he Ford Explorers here in the Upstate.

    Replace lower ball joint

I've seen the topic here, which although helpful,... http://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/threads/how-to-repllace-upper-lower-ball-joints-on-nnbs-tahoe.46406/ ...did not go quite as planned for me when doing it for the first time. There are some PPV-specific differences unless I missed something...

    Steelie Wheel Covers

So my steel wheels are a bit weathered from dealing with those Minnesota winters. To make them look better, I could Plasti-Kote them, have them stripped and repainted or just buy new ones. But then I found these and they look pretty good. I might paint a small gray strip on the edges to simulate...

For start we need PPV / SSV pics

Here's a couple. Glad to have a little web slice to call home. This 09 is formerly of the Minnesota Highway Patrol. You can still see the words "State Trooper" on the tail gate and fenders if the light hits it just right. 3.73 axle gets that 6700 lbs. moving in a hurry. When I was looking at...

    Tune options

That's a great question. and I'm looking forward to an answer. I've read all the benefits of an aftermarket tune, especially after adding components (headers, intake, etc) Stock police tune (unique in itself) already feels pretty impressive to the butt dyno in that it's not "just another Tahoe."...

2009 PPV Owner in Upstate SC

Hello from Upstate SC. Just bought this truck about a month. Had a bad left lower ball joint. I changed the control arm myself and just added the pushbar. Not afraid to turn a wrench if the job is not over my head. The truck is gorgeous and I love it. I hope to learn more about it with the help...
