My key fob has a press and hold button to open the rear glass. When I grab the handle and press the rear button there is no noise like their usually is. As far as I can see inside there is no hatch open button as I have always had to manually lift the gate.
The entire lift gate, my rear window will pop open but the handle for the entire rear hatch does not work. The button does not engage to open the hatch.
As the title says my rear hatch will not open. I unlock the truck and go to open the rear but nothing happens. I've read that it is possibly the actuator and it is not worth replacing as they always fail. If someone could point me in the right direction I'd greatly appreciate it!!
I may look into making one eventually. I'm going to be making/possibly manufacturing a prerunner style front bumper and a different style rear bumper also.
On a side note, where does Asia motors, Chicago motors get their vehicles? I was always under the impression they hand picked the vehicles and did not know if they went out to general state auctions or what?
Just thought I'd give an update, the trip went perfect. I took tozans rear bed idea and whipped up my ghetto version to get through the trip. In total we slept 4 nights in the truck ranging from superstition mountain in Apache junction to walmart parking lots. I'll post a timelapse I took...
Due to some family health issues it looks like I'll be heading to Tuscan, AZ next Tuesday. I plan on possibly doing new tires and for certain an oil change but I'm curious as to what other things I should look out for with these trucks? The current motor in the truck (ly6) has about 78k miles on...
I noticed you stated you have an air bag, is it just a helper bag? What is the complete list of parts you used to lower it? It's the exact look I've been thinking about!! I'm also not far from denver (scottsbluff,ne)
Back when I was looking for mine I found one at Asia Motors in Chicago. For logistical reasons I rode with my dad in his 18 wheeler. After a 6 hour drive there from Iowa it was pretty clear that it was not accurately represented. I took my check already made out for that particular truck and...
We just got the first big snow of the year here and Nebraska and it's brought out an issue in my dads 2010 tahoe ssv. Apparently this evening 4x4 would not engage which as you can imagine was a pita especially with all the snow here. Haven't pulled a code but I wanted to see what the general...
I've been having this issue for about a month now. There is a noise coming from the front end of my tahoe. It definitely sounds like a rotating squeak which made me initially think it was a wheel bearing. The issue is it stops when the brakes are even touched. It's a loud but I'm not sure if it...
As the title states I'm having a door lock issue on my 11 SSV. The issue is the lock tabs will not correctly recede into the door unless you put pressure on the corner of the door panel. I just replaced the mirror on the passenger door and now the issue is present there when it was just on the...
I'm going with Texas speed longtubes in the near future. My buddy has had a set on his truck for along time with no issues and you can't beat the price.
I have mine mounted underneath the dash. I took it out when it went into the shop but the mount is still there. I used an existing hole as my ssv already had a few on the roof. I thought for the cleanest look to mount it through the rear bumper on the side near a taillight so the antenna...
I got the truck back from the tuner this evening and wow what a difference in torque. He basically wrote a whole tune that was decently aggressive. Ran the truck through its paces and am really happy with the outcome. The truck did go into limp mode but that is a maf issue that he had already...
Just an update, got the ly6 in the truck and fired up! The two major things I had to fix/change was the motor mounts and I had to repin the MAF as the ly6 was slightly different than the lmg maf. I have my local tuner working on a tune for it this weekend as the stock ly6 tune I tried to flash...
So the ly6 is delivered and the lmg is disassembled. Both rear pistons were completely shattered along with the rods. Does anyone who has done this swap have any hang ups to look out for? I'm going to be using hp tuners to load a base file for the ly6, my only concern as of right now is the ly6...
