    You say you leaned on it in the rear but were you touching the handle on the liftgate? There is a pressure pad on the inside of the handle for my 08 Denali so I'm assuming it's the same for Tahoes and Escalades.

    Lift gate woes...but a bit different then I've seen

    I had a lot of the issues many people are talking about with the rear hatch on my 08 Denali. I found my issue was the latch. I loosened the screws enough to pull the latch as far back as I could then retightened the screws. Problem solved! That was almost two years ago.
