Roof Rack - Aftermarket vs. Factory - Denali

I had 3 kayaks on my stock Suburban rack. They held fine for 400+ miles, but they bounced more than I was comfortable with. I'm ordering Yakima crossbars. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    3rd row won't come out

When we first got our burb I couldn't get the 3rd row out because I thought I had to lock them in the up position. You fold the back down, flip the #2 lever but only let the back raise a couple inches, then give a hard tug on handle #3.

Do You Regret: Short-Body vs Long-Body

We (I) went with the Suburban over the Tahoe for Scout camping primarily. Depending on needs I can haul eight people and most of their gear or 5 people, all their gear, and the Prius guy's gear. Also, if I have the 3rd row removed (2012) and the second row folded up there's room for my cot in...

New to the site, looking for answers...

I would guess oil cooler lines. They are near the filter and notorious for leaking. If you drove it to the mechanic and it wasn't making crazy loud noises, I'd find a new mechanic.

    Low oil, excess carbon buildup

4 qts in 2500 miles is a lot. I would think you'd easily see that on the ground or coming out of the exhaust.

    What do you TOW?

Tow a 23' TT and my TJ on a 10k lb equipment trailer. Not at the same time though. :-) I added helper bags but need to track down one last small leak.

12 Tahoe 'Service Air Bag' light is on

My problem is the connector under the passenger seat.

Rear trailing arm snapped on my two week old Yukon Denali. Pics and story

I'll agree with massive. I put a leveling kit (which was just a spacer) on my 2012 'burb and it leveled it. I don't like the nose high look either.

Rear trailing arm snapped on my two week old Yukon Denali. Pics and story

I'd talk to the "big boss" myself, then work your way up from there. A pothole can puncture a tire, but it shouldn't break that arm. They are lazy and don't want to deal with warranty paperwork. I don't think dealers make much on warranty work either.

    Gonna be towing soon

Maybe if you backed the car into the trailer it would take some off the tongue weight off, but it might cause it to sway if there's not enough tongue weight.

Tow/haul works fine in OD. However, if you find it shifting in and out of OD a lot it's best pull it down to 3. A lot is shifting or lugging the motor in a higher gear generates heat in the transmission, but that typically doesn't happen tow/haul.

    Gonna be towing soon

Look for a thread titled "What Can I Tow" from August 2013 by enypde on this forum in Engine & Drivetrain section.

The accommodation for weight distribution are on the receiver, not the hitch. If the writing is still on the hitch look there. It's on the right opposite the electrical connection. I tried to post a link to another article about it but it won't post.

    Gonna be towing soon

If the hitch on your Caddy is like the one on my '06 Silverado, it's rated for 5k lbs weight carrying and 10k weight distributing. This means if you aren't using a weight distribution set up the hitch is only rated at 5k lbs. Also, my truck only had a stock tranny cooler and the temps never got...
