I have a pair of new-in-the-box Dorman Rear Lower Control Arms for 2007-2014 Chevy Tahoe (and probably other years/models). Part #521-970. Buy the pair for $40. No shipping. Local pickup only. I'm in Northern Virginia.
I have a set of four (4) like-new door handles for 2007-2014 Tahoe, Gold...
I got a new-to-me ride and traded the Tahoe in the process. Scored a loaded, low-mileage Audi A6 3.0T. She looks, rides & handles like a million bucks and moves out like a scalded cat. :)
Totally realize that the new ride won't be as easy to work on as the Tahoe (lol), but we've had several...
Go to edmunds.com and input your car specs into their car appraisal tool. It'll give you a very good approximation of what your car will bring in your region as a Trade, as a Private Party sale and as a Dealer sale.
Truth.
I test-drove a Genesis G80 last week and was absolutely blown away by all the advanced safety & technology.....and I’m not even a techie. Adaptive cruise control that can bring the car to a complete stop if necessary, lane keep assist that literally steers the car if you select a certain...
One thing that no one has mentioned is that newer vehicles have vastly more advanced tech & safety features. Granted, this factors in greatly for some, none at all for others.
The motors in the door lock actuators are prone to failure over time. Some replace the entire actuator assembly; some open up the mechanism and replace the motor.
If you determine that you can't repair it yourself, I'd suggest taking it to a body shop instead of the dealer. Body shop will know exactly what to do and may even "pop" it back together at no charge, whereas the dealer may struggle and charge you $250
You're planning now for tires you'll buy next spring?
You'll get lots of recommendations, but most will be for Michelins, and most of those will be for Defenders.
There's little to be gained by asking strangers on the web about their insurance premiums since there are so many individualized factors: your age, your credit profile, your risk profile, your average annual miles driven, your family profile, etc.
It'll take years of vehicle operation to see enough savings in fuel cost to offset the cost of the tune itself.
If fuel economy is that important, get or trade into a different and lower-cost vehicle altogether.
I run an 89-octane BBP custom tune in my 2008 LT3 and average 14.5 MPG around town. I never get over 18 MPG on highway. Don't recall what I was seeing before the tune, but it was comparable.
Pretty sure that if I ran it strictly like a grandma around town I'd see 16 MPG. But the boredom and/or...
Looks great!
I just discovered today that I have a small crack in my dash. It took 161k miles for it to finally rear its ugly head. I couldn't care less at this point. :)
I haven't thought about or experimented much with fuel or oil additives.
But I wonder if there is any scientific evidence that these products do anything at all.
I've been in manufacturing & supply chain distribution for almost 30 years. There are definitely times when a vendor/mfr just can't produce or ship a part, or they can't do so without a lengthy delay.
If this is the issue, it sucks, but it is what it is, and no amount of belly-aching is going...
