2016 Suburban LT Fog Lamps install with OEM switch

Not sure what's up on your end, but the pics are there, I just checked from a public computer and theyret there. Make sure you're able to visit imgur.com, that's where they're hosted.

2016 Suburban LT Fog Lamps install with OEM switch

The factory switch is only a momentary switch, so unless you have another way to make the switch latch on/off, you're going to need the 611T.

2016 Suburban LT Fog Lamps install with OEM switch

I've never actually seen them on a Suburban/Tahoe. I imagine it's for exports. The only cars I've ever seen with "rear fog lamps" have been European. All I know is that they're mentioned in the service manual.

You should not have to run a wire through the firewall regardless; you can if you want, but it's not necessary.

2016 Suburban LT Fog Lamps install with OEM switch

Nope, didn't need to cut into the dash at all. I removed the original light switch that our Suburban was equipped with and replaced it with a light switch from another GM truck that had factory fog lamps in order to add the fog lamp on/off switch to the truck. Here's the switch I used...

2016 Suburban LT Fog Lamps install with OEM switch

Yea, I grabbed the rear activation over the front due to convenience. Electrically, they tested the same and I knew it would function just the same.

Are you asking for the original GM schematics? You can find them free, officially, at https://www.gmupfitter.com/pages/body-builder-manuals

2016 Suburban LT Fog Lamps install with OEM switch

Not sure what you mean by that, do you want a PDF or a JPG? This is my parents' truck so I'm not sure it has Intellibeam, is it equipped on all trims? Regardless, the way I explain to wire everything ensures that the fog lamps work anytime the parking lights are on, so yes, they would still...

2016 Suburban LT Fog Lamps install with OEM switch

It sounds like you both have the same issue, and I suspect the root is catching the wrong brown wire coming out of the fuse box. Make sure that when you test that brown wire with your multimeter, it does NOT change 12V-0V or vice versa when you turn any of the lights on (parking, headlamp...

2016 Suburban LT Fog Lamps install with OEM switch

I think I misunderstood your original problem. Is your problem that the switch doesn't trigger the 611T or that the lights are always on?

2016 Suburban LT Fog Lamps install with OEM switch

Best suggestion I have is to pull out a multimeter and see where the break in the chain is. Start at the switch, verify that the you see ground there when you press it (or lose voltage). Then move on to the 611T and verify that it's turning on, then go under the hood, if you put a relay there...

2016 Suburban LT Fog Lamps install with OEM switch

It's definitely the same switch assembly in the body builder's schematic for both front and rear fog lamps at least for our US models ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. For a low beams signal inside the truck--If you have halogens, yellow at the BCM, plug X4, pins 1 and 2 go out to the low beams (12V when on). If you...

2016 Suburban LT Fog Lamps install with OEM switch

0xF16, I would say meter it and see if it tests the same. From the schematics, I see that there are two Blue/Gray wires for the fog lamp circuit, one in pin 6, the other in pin 10. FWIW, pin 6 goes to pin 12 of the BCM and pin 10 goes to pin 15 of the BCM (both wires/pins in connector X1 of the...

2016 Suburban LT Fog Lamps install with OEM switch

Sorry, I didn't see any replies until this morning. Dip switches should be set as follows: 1 - Doesn't matter 2 - OFF, Normally Open (default) 3 - OFF, Latched (default) 4 - ON, (-) input (default) so basically, leave them alone. The dial also doesn't apply here since it's only used when dip...

2016 Suburban LT Fog Lamps install with OEM switch

You still need to wire up a relay for your lamps under the hood, well you should. In the last picture (that's an actual photo), there's a red/white wire that you can use as the positive voltage source for your lamps. Ground your lamps to the frame somewhere near them, then run the positive wire...

2016 Suburban LT Fog Lamps install with OEM switch

Yea, I was really surprised they'd bother equipping different fuseboxes on the trucks, I would think that it would be more scale economics to them to supply the same fusebox.

2016 Suburban LT Fog Lamps install with OEM switch

The pin is missing both at the harness that plugs into the fusebox and goes out to the lights, and it's also missing from the fusebox internals as well - so if you pin it into the harness, there's still nothing for it to mate to at the fusebox board internally. During this install, I took the...

2016 Suburban LT Fog Lamps install with OEM switch

On top of a BCM flash, you're also going to need a new engine harness and fusebox if you want the full "stock" functionality. A more cost-effective solution that could appear to be stock would be if someone could "sniff" out the CAN messages to the instrument cluster that cause the cluster to...

2016 Suburban LT Fog Lamps install with OEM switch

Yes but that's by design on my part. In fact, it will reset when the parking lamps turn off. If you want it to remember the state, just connect the black on the 611T to ground instead of the parking lamp wire.

I just wire-tied it to the headlamp switch harness and tucked it behind the headlamp switch.

2016 Suburban LT Fog Lamps install with OEM switch

Picked it up from AutoAnything. I can't comment on the quality of the lighting since I don't drive it, this is my parents' truck - I'm only the family tech :). The bulb is an actual bulb, my guess is the stock fog lamp bulb that it should be. I've seen other kits that have the bulb in the...

It did come with them. They're full replacements for the flat black ones. You unclip the flat black ones and the chrome ones just clip into the same place.

Request for Parts Help - Fog Lights

Here's a thread I posted on using the OE switch with aftermarket fog lamps. Enjoy! If you still need help taking that dash panel off, I documented it in my fog lamp install thread. Cheers.
